Compatible with next-gen Intel and AMD CPUs.

DeepCool has announced the AK500 CPU tower cooler featuring an offset design for better RAM compatibility and a low-noise 120mm fan.

After a dual-tower AK600 and a single-tower AK400 with ‘Direct Touch’ heatpipes, DeepCool is releasing the AK500, combining the former’s heat dissipation with the latter’s compatibility. To achieve that, DeepCool has moved the fin-stack to the back, enough to offer clear access to DIMM slots, thus ensuring compatibility with tall RAM modules while not blocking their RGB lighting. For motherboards with DIMM slots on both sides, rear slots have 45mm of height clearance.

AK500 measures 127mm (W) × 117mm (D) × 158mm (H) and weighs a considerable 1,040g. It has five 6mm copper heatpipes transferring heat to a dense (probably aluminium) fin-stack. To move air through the cooler, DeepCool employs its 120mm FK120 fan capable of rotating from 500RPM up to 1,850RPM, providing 68.99CFM of airflow at 31.5dB maximum noise level. If for some reason you can’t hook the fan to a PWM header, an included low-speed adapter brings noise to 25.9dB max but lowers airflow to 52.24CFM.

Design-wise, the brand is still using a plastic top cover to hide heatpipes’ ends, alongside a black non-RGB fan. This means the cooler can be installed in any chassis without sticking out, which also includes horizontal cases, inside of which the AK500 can still offer its maximum heat dissipation, thanks to an optimised capillary structure and precise liquid amount.

DeepCool advertises support for Intel LGA 2066/2011-v3/2011/1700/1200/1151/1150/1155 and AMD AM5/AM4 sockets, with up to 240W TDP CPUs. Perfect when considering the higher TDP of upcoming AMD Ryzen 7000 Series processors.

The AK500 tower cooler is listed in Japan at ¥8,680 (Yen), or about £53.
